Bailey is 2 months

I'm sorry there are so many pictures of Bailey, but they are all just too cute not to post. Everyday Bailey gets bigger and bigger. She has the cutest double chin and little rolls on her thighs. She is smiling more and more everyday. She is fascinated with her hands as you can see in the collage top right corner. We went to her 2 month well child visit and she is doing great. She is now 11 lbs 5 oz, 23", and head circumference is 39 cm. For her weight she is in the 63 percentile of babies her age and 74 percentile for her height.

We had to take Camrey to the doctor as well for her Kindergarten check. For those of you who hated everytime your baby had to get a shot it is even worse when they are five and have no fat in their legs. Camrey tried so hard to be brave, but it hurt her so bad. We tried to have her count, which she did thru the tears, but it still hurt. I almost broke down and started crying myself. Once Camrey was done then we did Bailey's shots. I'm not saying that it is any easier with a baby, but Bailey, sound asleep, got the shots, cried, and went back to sleep. It is hard no matter what age, but when they can express how much it hurt that's just sad.

Camrey has always been on the smaller side. When she was a baby she only got into the 15 percentile if that. She is now 34.6 lbs and 42". She is in the 6 percentile for her weight and 17 percentile for her height. She is going to be short like her mom.

Extended, Extended family

This last Sunday we had Lantz take Bailey's 8 week pictures and then the kids together. (Results of that on our blog header) Lantz did such a great job. Thank you Lantz for getting great pictures for us. We joke that "the Hansen's" are our neighbor's, but really they are more of our extended family. After the pictures Angie's family came out and Lantz's parents came out and we had dinner. It seems we have been adopted into both families. I enjoy spending time with both families and consider them my own.
Shelby and Alyssa these pictures are for you :)

What Corey does for fun

As you know Corey is an archery hunter. With as much property as we have Corey has been able to get a target and practice his skills. Well it has now become a little more extreme. Now Corey and his friends come out on Wednesday nights and they play archery darts. They have a dart board as their target and they play all night long. They have such a good time that I can't complain.

Camrey took this picture... I think photography is in her future.

"Wicked" visitor

Yeah! April came to visit us from jolly old England. Back in June of 2008 we bid farewell to our good friends April and Eric. If you remember we had a "wicked" bbq for them. Well April was able to come back to UT this month and visit us. It was so good to see her. We were bummed that Eric couldn't make it this time (Corey was super bummed he didn't get to see his boyfriend), but we will look forward to seeing him next time. So April got here last week and we had dinner at the Olive Garden on Friday evening and then hung out again on Saturday night. We had a great time catching up and hearing about all the fun times April has been having. The time wasn't long enough though. I got pictures of Friday night, but forgot my camera for Saturday night. April got to meet Bailey and they were instant friends. April it was so good to see you and I can't wait until next time. I am making a personal goal to save enough money so I can come and visit you, but until then we will be missing you and look forward to the next time. We love you!

April and Shay!

The bunch of us! (please do not pay any attention to me looking large and in charge)

I LOVE being Mom!

Sunday, May 10th was Mother's Day. I am just posting about it now. That is a little pathetic, I know. I had a great Mother's Day. It was great because I got to spend it with my family. Corey let me sleep in and he made breakfast. That right there was enough for me. All I wanted for Mother's Day was flowers that I could have outside to make the yard beautiful and the kids did a great job picking out the flowers.

After getting ready for the day we met up with my Mom and family to have lunch and fun at a park. My Mom's birthday and Mother's Day are so close we celebrated both on Mother's Day. We gave her the "to everything there is a season" wall hanger from make and take. My job was to make all of the hangers for spring, July 4th, September, October, November, and December. That was a little difficult where I was so close to having Bailey, but, thanks to Wendy, I got it done in time and my Mom was super happy.

Then we had play time at the park. The kids had a great time and so did the adults.

Who wouldn't love being Mom and Aunt to these cute kids!

After hanging out with my family we went home for naps and Corey took pictures of me and the kids.

Then it was off to have Mother's Day and Birthday celebrations for the Martin family. I forgot my camera for this part, but we had a good time eating and celebrating. For the month of May, Happy Birthday to Bob (my stepdad), Landon (our nephew), Ellie (our niece), Ann (Mom Martin), and Martha (Mom Whittle). And Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mother's I know.

The cutest kids ever!!!

I may be a little biased, but my kids and their personalities are so cute.
I have some random pictures of our adorable kids from the last month.
One Saturday we were hanging out at the house after Camrey's soccer game. Now when I say we, it was Gram, Camrey, Brennen, Bailey and Me. Gram was there because she is so great she would come over to watch Bailey so I didn't have to worry about her at the games. When Gram comes over for those little baby watching moments she brings her guitar along with her. On her guitar case is a Gary Juile sticker. (sorry if I spelled the name wrong). This sticker has a bird on it. Camrey asked Gram to draw the bird on some paper. Then Camrey colored it and finally cut it out. The point to this story is the pictures below. Look at that concentration on cutting the bird out perfectly. Look at that tongue strategically sticking out of her mouth. Priceless!

Then, there is Brennen. We were eating french dip one evening for dinner. Brennen and Camrey love the dip. They say it is soup and even though I think it is absolutely disgusting to just drink the liquid brown stuff without the delicious bread and meat and cheese, my kids will drink it plain. So here is Brennen and his au jus drinking.

Pay close attention to the picture with his head out of the bowl and brown liquid coming out of his mouth. Yes, he would stick his head in the bowl and slurp up the liquid and then lift his head and squirt the liquid back into the bowl. This didn't only happen once, but multiple times. That's a boy for ya!
Brennen has both an all boy side and a sweet loving brother side. Brennen has to fight off Camrey to hold Bailey or feed Bailey. He finally got his moment to put the bottle in the baby's mouth.

And last, but of course not least, there is cute little Bailey. We were giving her a little bubble bath, and yes, instead of using a tub of some sort we resorted to using a bowl for this bath. Bailey loved it. I couldn't resist taking pictures. She kept wanting to eat the wash cloth.

Baby pictures

Everyone asks who Bailey looks like. Here are baby pictures of me, Camrey, Brennen, and Bailey. I don't have Corey's baby picture right now, but Camrey's baby picture looks a lot like what Corey looked like. I know that's a surprise since she looks more like me now. You can be the judges.

Since the baby...

So it has been a while since I last posted. Not a ton has happened since Bailey was born, but there are a few things to catch up on. Easter was 3 weeks after Bailey was born. On the Saturday before Easter we always have the Martin family Easter egg hunt. I really enjoy having the hunt at our house and it is always good fun when we have get togethers. We had a chili lunch with delicious corn bread and horchata and lemonade to drink. And a yummy fruit pizza for dessert. After the eating was done we had the Easter egg hunt.

While the Easter bunny was hiding eggs he/she came across 3 snakes. There were actually 4 total, but one didn't want to come out of the hole. The Easter bunny thought it would be funny to put the snakes in a bucket and have an Easter egg on top of the bucket. This way the kids would find an egg and the snakes all at once. Once the snakes were found the kids were a little distracted and didn't know whether to continue hunting for eggs or to play with the snakes. I knew for sure that my kids wouldn't be scared at all of the snakes and would pick them up immediately. Once the other kids saw the snakes were harmless they joined in the fun.

Bailey was such a trooper. She slept some of the time, but was also passed around a lot so she was happy since she was being held a lot.
Saturday evening we went to my Dad's house for some Easter celebration we had dinner and the kids decorated cookies.

Bailey got to meet her Great Grandma Poorte for the first time.
We had a really good time and it was nice to spend time with my Grandma.
Easter Sunday we usually go to my Mom's house for Easter breakfast and Easter egg hunt. This year the venue changed to my house so I didn't have to cart Bailey around. The kids had a great time hunting for eggs this year and can't wait for Easter to come again.

Uncle Seth enjoying the sun

Corey couldn't get off from work on Sunday so we waited to give Camrey her big Easter present until he got home. Poor kid has been riding a too small bike that has flat tires for too long. We finally got her a bike that is the perfect size for her and the tires stay pumped up. She was so excited!

Brennen got a new bike for his birthday in October, but he has already outgrown it. We will now need to get him a bigger bike because he tried out Camrey's and rides it much better than the little one. Wow kids are a lot of work!
